Even if the rexes hands were strong, he couldn't scratch his nose with them.

Yeah  . All they were good for was for scratching its chest, and even then they didn't have good reach...

there is a recent hypothesis that it could use its forelimbs to carry meat to offspring
another says they could be used to grapple during mating.

Watched a documentary that said rexes had a sort of mating dance, with which the male stood on the females back.

Is that really true?

I doubt we could know
they do reckon that sauropods did a similar thing as their vetabra fused or something to enable them to take the extra weight of a male
But this is all speculation, like so much stuff

Those tiny arms were super-strong. I guess they would help to hold the prey while biting it to death.

Bit too small and with not enough reach, methinks...

Just at the start, when it was lying down
Not only using its hands, just a way of balancing as it pushed off

Tyrannosaurus had a strong biceps. That muscle flexed the arm torwards the chest. Not really useful for getting up. And other theropods is its sice range (Giganotosaurus, even Spinosaurus) could not get up from a lying position, as the only surface of their arms that would come into contact with the ground would be their outer finger.

Is it really true that if a rex fell over it wouldn't be able to get up. How did it sleep then? Like horses, standing up.

Probably just rolled over and got up using its legs. Like a tortoise.

See those muscular legs?
I don't think it'd have problems getting up.
If it did, every other super-large theropod did aswell.

Wierd. What would be the point of strong bicepts and not large tricepts? It's similar to how a crocodile how they can't open the mouth well, but closes it with extreme force (even though they are different muscles, and this adaption is a good thing).

Tyrannosaurus arms were like meat hooks that could grab prey and hold it long enough to deliver its deadly bite.
