Look who decided to show their face here.

Issue seems to be there's not much going on here that involves everyone - nobody really plays JPOG any more so we aren't going to talk much about it. Need a new focus, imo, something we can chat about again. No idea what that would be though, everyone seems to be doing different things; Kovu is off with his programming, Doc is doing something biological and I'm studying human evolution.

My first suggestion would be to make this topic public, so we can get everyone's input. :P

Interest faded for a while, real life wasn't that helpful either.

Yeah, same here.
JPOG wasn't really what I had in mind, either. I just want to keep the people we have here and focus on something else.

The thing is - we need something to tie people up with this place. One motto that attracts people. With JPOG this won't last for too long anymore.

It's not that we should completely forget about that game, it's our roots, but we should assign more relevance to topics like entertainment, games, science and the like.

The believers foretold of his return
For the time after Kovu's PM
When the users of MG told stories
But no one wanted to concede
Concede that he would actually appear
And when he finally arrived
He arrived in glory!

Definitely. It'd also involve a modification to forum structure in some capacity...

Well, I barely check anything that isn't the bottom section of the forum, but I still enjoy coming here and seeing the people. Still, if anything is done, keep the MG stuff around, even if not the focus.

Sure, our history and knowledge has to be preserved. But that could easily be done by creating a JPOG-forum with all the modding forums as subforums. This would be a nice reorganization that makes navigation easier, I think.

What I was thinking aswell. It'd be a bad decision to scrap it alltogether...

I think that the most obvious bit of reorganization we should do is to place the general forums before the modding-related forums, rather than after.

Keep the name, obvs. If anything it can be something archaic newbies ask about.

See, this is the problem with only clicking "view your posts". So much to catch on with!

I agree with everyone that JPOG is pretty much dead. Now as to what could replace it? I dunno, but I would think it would be wise not to let the forum be labeled. You see, it's pretty obvious General Discussion is the most interesting part of the site (bar some Modding topics such as the FSM Dictionary which I, in all my JPOG inactivity, still find enthralling) yet one can not help but to think of this as an "mods for this game" place. I guess it looks better now, but I personally would think an expansion and generalisation of the modding section would be good i.e. mods for other games other than JPOG. Also in the games subject, a subforum for personal projects could work well. Hell, it wouldn't even have to be just for games! Making a movie? A song? Whatever, post away.

Disclaimer: I haven't played JPOG in years, take any advice with a pinch of salt.
