Emissions are going down (http://edgar.jrc.ec.europa.eu/news_docs ... t-1148.pdf). Your mistake is assuming that means CO2 levels would decrease with that, while it just means we're slowly decreasing high amounts of CO2 emissions.
You said it's not a problem that will fix itself. Well, it's also not something that can be fixed instantly. You can't just stop the processes that release CO2, it's a slow transition, and it is happening.

Look at this:
The share of the ‘new’ renewable energy sources solar, wind and biofuel also increased with accelerating speed: it took 15 years since 1992 for the share to double from 0.5% to 1.1%, but only 6 more years to do so again, to 2.4% in 2012.

That's what I meant before when I said technology evolves exponentially. We are on a good track.

I have a problem with your post in that all you do is complain, and offer no solutions, which means you're not really saying anything. I mean, it's not news that atmospheric CO2 is bad. We've known that for a while. C'mon, "As a society we need to realize that we've polluted the atmosphere so badly that there hasn't been this much CO2 in the atmosphere probably since the Permian extinction."? Yeah, we have realized that, and even better, we're working to fix that. But it will take a while.

 you dont have to flat out insult me
Remember that chap about twenty years ago? I forget his name. Climbed Everest without any oxygen, came down nearly dead. When they asked him, they said why did you go up there to die? He said I didn't, I went up there to live.
