The "Perimetering" Technique

Unread postby ChrisTom » Tue, 3rd Aug 2010 15:56

Alright, so I've seen alot of nice parks on this site, but almost none of them use the "Perimetering" technique. With the Perimetering technique you can make sure Dinosaurs don't wander off into the ocean which honestly doesn't look asteticly pleasing. In short, take the Mountain tool (not Hill, Mountain) and simply place Mountains along the edge of your island with the exception of River areas.

Not only is this method of natural fencing keep Large and Small Dinosaurs out of the ocean, it also looks rather nice, giving the park a feeling of more depth and background.

If you really want it to look extra nice, make sure no trees are on the Mountains.

In short, this is just a technique to make your park look much more realistic.

I do that when I have the spare funds.

When one starts up fences are a cheaper alternative
