Safari Cruiser Safety Guidelines

Unread postby Tetanurae Subspecies » Tue, 20th Feb 2007 8:44

Firstly, never, never, NEVER let a large carnivore into the cage with the safari. Or the safari gets mauled.

Don't take your chances with the small carnivores. Raptors and Dilos are small enough to become roadkill if you drive over them (happens to anything that size). Not too sure about the larger small carnivores and their reactions though.

Not all herbivores are safe, either. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Triceratops will attack safari jeeps, and I ran into a Torosaurus that wrecked two Jeeps in a row. Dryo, Homalo, and Galli could wind up roadkill. Hadrosaurs are pretty safe.

Be prepared to drive the Jeep away if it is in danger. Send the ranger helicopter to pick up survivors if there is a crash... and if there are any survivors.

Modding the game is an alternative to the above guide, which is mainly for those who cannot mod.

Or you could disregard all this and be a sadistic evil person.

I hope this has been of interest... thank you.

First of all the Safari's are smart enough not to run over the dinosaurs. Thats why they sit there and honk until the animals move. I wish I could see the triceratops or torrosaurus attack a land cruiser, and if you have to manually drive the land cruiser, and want to avoid hitting them thats what the radar is for. As for the medium sized carnivores I dont know if they will attack.

Not true, sometimes the Dinosaurs do run into the jeep, everytime a Dinosaur gets hit by a jeep, it's health goes down.

The sociabble dinosaurs is a good plan for the safari.

My actual safari:

Driosaurus
Gallimimus
Estegosaurus
Brachiosaurus
Edmontosaurus
Parasaurolophus
Camarasaur
Pachycephalosaur
Homanocephale
Corythosaur
Ouranosaur

I USE THE UNLIMITED DIGSITES MOD.

I wonder if it's possible to have a (relatively) safe safari ride with large carnivores... If the dino repellant thing only repelled attacking dinosaurs, that would be perfect. But it doesn't. I think the turret is definitely overkill, since i wouldn't want my cute little dinos killed.

Well the turret would shoot the dinosaur on site regardless if it was attacking the land cruiser. I would say make the path go along the paddock wall instead of out in the open. That way he could only attack it from one angle.

Well I just wish that the turret wasnt so powerful , its just to simple placing a turret outside the T.rex pen then it dieing the second it comes out in a rampage.
