JPOG on WIndows 7

Unread postby Basilo » Sun, 7th Feb 2010 1:14

As a user of Windows 7, i would like to post a help topic here for other users of this operating system. Currently, the only problem i have found is that cheats don't work, but that is still a very annoying problem.

I just registered to say that GEP .v1 and .v2 doesn't work with Windows 7. Whenever I install either of them and start a new game, it crashes back to the desktop. I also noticed that Site B can't be selected when GEP is installed (Like it usually is).

Having said that, the vanilla game works perfectly, cheats and all.

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode to WinXP?

Yup. Tried both XP compatibility modes and Site B becomes selectable and I can see the GEP saved games when I select 'Load Game' (I couldn't before), but it still crashes back to the desktop whenever I start a game.

that's odd... to say the least.
just so we are sure, you're only using one of the GEP, right?

I know. My last PC had WinXP and both GEPs worked perfectly. Maybe they just don't like Windows 7?

Yeah, I'm only using GEP .v2 (Or should I say I'm trying to use it?). Win7 is pretty crap when it comes to gaming, imo.

It's just that I never had such a problem... and I actually find it a much more stable gaming platform than Vista...

Sorry, don't really know what's the problem...

Yeah, I'm using Home Premium.

Hopefully those who made the mod can work something out.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, do they know about this?

You mean the GEP right? Because then you would be speaking to one of the chief modders (Legion).

Hence why he is the Admin. :zaru:

Ah, lmao, I didn't know!

EDIT: Oh yeah, custom skins work. I'm using JPItalia's movie skins and they work perfectly.

Yeah, GEP v2 doesn't work on my new laptop either. I don't know if it's because Windows 7 doesn't like my raptors?

P.S: The cheats work fine on my lapttop, so it must be just yours Basilo
